Kate Barrow

Director of Staff Training and Development

Kate Barrow worked at Midtown Community Court, Bronx Family Court, and the Red Hook Community Justice Center in variety of direct practice and leadership positions. Recently, she was the lead clinical author of the Up & Out program, a short-term ATI group intervention grounded in trauma-informed, procedural justice, and social justice practices. Her work at the Center and in prior organizations has focused on developing and managing programs for marginalized people, including homeless queer youth, survivors of trauma, LGBTQ people, young people with serious mental health issues, and systems-involved youth, families, and adults.

Ms. Barrow has also been an adjunct professor at New York University, where she has taught courses on anti-oppressive social work practice, and social work in criminal justice settings. She completed her undergraduate studies at Naropa University in Contemplative Psychology and received her MSW from the Silver School of Social Work at NYU. She was named an emerging social work leader by the National Association of Social Workers New York City Chapter in 2014. She is a licensed clinical social worker in New York.
