Genna Marku is the clinical manager at UpNext, a fatherhood engagement and workforce development program of Midtown Community Court. Genna began her career at Midtown as a Community Service Representative with John Jay College, working with Midtown’s Times Square Ink Program in 2012. Genna has since served in multiple roles in both the workforce development and fatherhood departments. As Clinical Manager, Genna supervises a team of case managers, provides individual counseling, and oversees the enrollment and assessment process. Genna also facilitates fatherhood roundtable sessions and cognitive behavioral therapy groups and is responsible for UpNext programming at Queensboro, Edgecombe, and Lincoln Correctional Facilities. Genna holds a B.A. in International Criminal Justice and a B.A. in Forensics Psychology from John Jay College, and a Master’s in Social Work from the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College. Genna is also a Licensed Master Social Worker in New York State.
