Jeremy Madrid serves as Contracts Manager at the Center for Justice Innovation. In this inaugural role, Jeremy leads the Contracts Operations Team and its integration and growth at the Center. Serving the entire organization, his team is responsible for end-to-end management of the Center’s contracting processes, from award through execution. The team works closely with internal and external contract stakeholders to ensure a smooth and efficient flow of operations, meeting all of the Center’s fiscal and compliance obligations.
Previously, Jeremy worked for six years at the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD). Initially an HPD Legal Fellow, Jeremy went on to hold additional roles in both compliance and grants and contracts management. As manager of HPD’s Research grants and contracts, Jeremy managed the contracts for both the New York State Housing and Vacancy Survey (HVS) and the Rent Guidelines Board (RGB), including during the onset of the COVID-19 crisis, successfully handling unprecedented challenges to ensure the housing stability of over 2 million New Yorkers. Before joining the Center, Jeremy returned to his hometown for one year to work at the University of Texas at Austin’s Business Contracts Office, where he worked with a team of lawyers to review and approve UT Austin’s immense volume of business contracts.
Jeremy earned his is J.D. from Fordham University School of Law and his B.A. in Political Science from Columbia University. He is a licensed attorney in both Texas and New York State. He lives in the South Bronx with his dog, William.
