Shakira Nova

Resource Coordinator, SRP

Shakira Nova is currently the Resource Coordinator for the Supervised Release Program at BCS, where she serves as a primary liaison and representative between BCS and court room staff during arraignments.  Previous to this position, she was part of the Civil Alternatives project with CCI where she was a Bilingual Community Justice Facilitator. During her time, she was responsible for holding one-on-one sessions and group sessions as an alternative to payment for individuals who received NYC civil summonses. Throughout the years, she has gained various experiences, such as overseeing substance abuse clients, foster children, as well as supervising students with a history of mental health and criminal involvement. Shakira holds a B.A and M.A in Criminal Justice from the State University of New York at Albany
