Trisa Edmonson is the program director for the Harlem Community Justice Center. In this role, she helps Justice Corps members navigate educational systems and structures, including acquiring their High School Equivalency Diploma and pursing high educational goals. Prior to this position, she was a social studies teacher at the Hudson County Juvenile Detention Center and at YouthBuild Newark. She also worked as a housing specialist for ActionAIDS, Inc., securing permanent housing for homeless individuals and families living with HIV in Philadelphia. Ms. Edmonson holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from San Francisco State University and a master’s in African-American studies from Temple University.
