Overview
The Center for Justice Innovation technical assistance staff provide comprehensive support to jurisdictions as they design and implement sustainable change in their local criminal justice system. This team served as a strategic partner and technical assistance provider for the MacArthur Foundation’s Safety and Justice Challenge (SJC), a ten-year initiative focused on reducing the misuse and overuse of jails and eliminating racial and ethnic disparities in the criminal justice system.
This fact sheet captures key insights and reflections from the inaugural in-person convening of the SJC Pennsylvania Network in December 2024. Over two days, practitioners and policymakers from SJC sites Philadelphia and Allegheny County discussed approaches to community engagement and successful diversion and deflection approaches.
