Sustainable community safety requires a fundamental shift in how cities approach problem-solving; moving away from a top-down systems approach and towards community-led solutions. Drawing on the groundbreaking work from the Mayor’s Action Plan of Neighborhood Safety at the Office of Community Safety, we will explore why putting people with lived experience into positions of leadership generates new opportunities and improves systems.
