Dana Rivera, LMSW is the Project Director at Brooklyn Justice Initiatives, where she oversees Alternatives to Incarceration and Early Diversion programming. She holds a Master of Social Work from New York University and a Master of Science in Nonprofit Leadership from Fordham University.
Dana’s journey with the Center began as a part-time case manager in 2015 and evolved into a leadership role shaped by deep commitment and lived experience. Raised in a community much like those she now serves, Dana brings a personal understanding of the barriers faced by individuals too often overlooked by traditional systems.
Before joining BJI, she spent nearly a decade supporting children and families in New Jersey, working at the intersection of mental health, systems involvement, and community care.
