Lauren Marker is the senior social worker at Midtown Community Court. In this role, she provides clinical assessments, group counseling, and individual counseling, as well as clinical supervision to interns and staff. She is also involved with the Midtown Treatment Track, a longer term Alternatives to Incarceration (ATI) for individuals struggling with substance use. Prior to joining the Center for Court Innovation, Lauren worked at Harlem United, providing harm reduction substance abuse and mental health counseling. She has also provided trauma-informed mental health counseling to individuals living with HIV/AIDS, formerly incarcerated individuals, LGBTQ homeless youth, and sex offenders. Lauren received her B.A. in Psychology and Sexuality Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her Master’s in Social Work from New York University. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New York State.
