Nate Garcia is a court liaison for the supervised release program at Brooklyn Justice Initiatives. In this role, he screens defendants at arraignment to determine whether they qualify for supervised release in lieu of bail. Previously, he served as a program fellow at the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, contributing to the planning and launch of the organization’s Safety and Justice Challenge. The Safety and Justice Challenge is a partnership with the Center for Court Innovation and other agencies that supports local jurisdictions in their efforts to change the way they think about and use jail. Mr. Garcia holds a B.A. in economics from Stanford University.
