Rachel Gregory helped launch the Center for Court Innovation’s first Restorative Justice program in the Bronx as part of Project Reset. She has worked with people impacted by incarceration and the criminal legal system for more than a decade. Rachel holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Columbia University. She is both a New York licensed Social Worker and a Certified Restorative Justice facilitator. Prior to pursuing her Master’s Degree, she worked for three years as the Supervising Paralegal at the Federal Defenders of New York in the Southern District, where she collaborated with attorneys in defending clients charged with federal crimes. While working in public defense, Rachel became invested in using Restorative Justice as a way to help people heal from cycles of violence and harm. Rachel honed her clinical social work skills as a counselor and Restorative Justice circle facilitator at a high school in East New York, Brooklyn; served on the Adolescent Representation Team at Brooklyn Defender Services; and worked as a high school Relationship Abuse Prevention Coordinator in a program run by Steps to End Family Violence.
