Shegufta Huma is a planner for criminal justice operations. She supports, coordinates, and leads management of various ongoing and new projects such as early diversion programs, alternatives to incarceration, and community justice initiatives. Prior to joining the Center, Shegufta worked with the Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights as well as the City of Lawrence, Kansas government. Shegufta studied political science as an undergraduate at the University of Kansas. She went on to graduate school at the University of Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar where she concentrated on refugee and forced migration studies.
